YBDSA centenary is now over, but we had some good events and met some former members that we had not seen for some time at both the Reception at our offices in Petersfield in March, to which we were more than delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Petersfield, and Tiff Needell of "Fifth Gear" fame who is also the son of former YBDSA President Anthony F Needell. Did you know the F stood for Fairey, as in Fairey Marine?

We had an excellent celebration at the Royal Thames Yacht Club in November with 80 guests, a Gala Dinner and a superb presentation by Tracey Clarke as presenter, with Shelley Jory-Leigh (British Powerboat Champion) and Lucy Rivers-Bulkeley (an extreme walker). They had some great video footage of powerboat racing and Lucy walking in the Antartic!

Thanks to everyone who got involved and made our events so enjoyable.

YBDSA believes professionalism is critical in the current financial climate

Membership of a professional association like ABYA or YDSA pays dividends as clients understand that their broker or surveyor has the back-up of a professional association, offering support when queries arise. If the broker or surveyor you are using is not a member of a professional association s/he may well not have PI insurance (to protect you as well as them), or for Brokers they may not have a Client Account to keep client monies separate from their own trading accounts.
